Yorkville Woman Charged With Forgery, Perjury
The woman was arrested and charged more than a year after the investigation began, according to sheriff's office report.

YORKVILLE, IL — The Kendall County Sheriff's Office said a Yorkville woman was arrested and charged with purgery and forgery Thursday as a result of an investigation stemming from a July 2017 incident. According to the sheriff's office, 39-year-old Courtney L. DeWitt, from the 200 block of Fairhaven Drive was accused of providing fictitious documents and information to Kendall County court officials, in addition to being accused of making false statements during a civil hearing on July 18, 2017 at the Kendall County Courthouse.
The sheriff's office said they began an investigation into these allegations against DeWitt on Aug. 2, 2017. Detectives' investigative work led to the Kendall County State's Attorney's Office approval of felony perjury and forgery charges against DeWitt Tuesday, more than a year after the investigation began.
The sheriff's office said DeWitt was taken into custody Thursday in the 200 block of Hillcrest Avenue. She was released from custody the next day on a personal recognizance, officials said.
