Evansville man charged in 2024 apartment fire that injured four (courierpress.com) β Evansville officials have charged a 46-year-old man in connection with a 2024 apartment fire at Ingle Terrace that injured four residents and destroyed several units. Investigators say surveillance footage placed him at the downtown building before the blaze, and heβs now held in Vanderburgh County Jail on a $100,000 bond while facing multiple arson counts.

2. EPD: Man accused of threatening to shoot victim for not holding door open for him (14news.com) β Evansville police say a 29-year-old local man was jailed after allegedly threatening to shoot someone during a dispute over holding a hotel door open on Eagle Crest Drive. Officers later reported finding a stolen handgun and marijuana in a room, and the suspect was booked into the Vanderburgh County Jail without bond on multiple charges.

Elberfeld man arrested for βsexting' minor, deputies say (14news.com) β Evansville authorities say a Vanderburgh County child sex crime investigation has led to the arrest of an Elberfeld man on multiple felony charges. Deputies allege he exchanged explicit messages and photos with a teenage girl and supplied her with nicotine pouches and illegal mushrooms. Heβs being held without bond on charges including providing obscene material to a minor and possessing child pornography.

5. Robyn White, 65 of Carmi (wfiwradio.com) β An Evansville hospice facility is where 65-year-old Carmi, Illinois resident Robyn White passed away on December 22 after a long battle with cancer. Her obituary remembers her love of flowers, antiques, crafts, pets, and road trips, and shares her wish that friends and family focus on love rather than sadness. A celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
