- Mark your calendars! The Indy Opera is bringing Rodgers & Hammerstein's "Carousel" to Carmel Palladium on Sunday, May 1 at 7:00 p.m. The show is set in the 1940s and everyone planning to attend is invited to wear their best vintage attire for a memorable night! - The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department Chief Randal Taylor spoke out yesterday on the violence that happened in Indy over the weekend. According to the authorities, there were over a dozen shootings that left eight dead across the city this past weekend. Taylor said that Indy must continue to "stay the course" with anti-violence programs at the neighborhood level. (WIBC - Indianapolis News & Politics and FOX 59 Indianapolis)
- A national public health survey is being conducted in Indianapolis and Marion County. The National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey was launched over the weekend. This survey aims to get a snapshot of health and nutrition in the U.S. with Marion County being just one of 15 counties across the country to participate in the annual survey of 5,000 people. “With this survey, we will be among the first in the nation to have access to critical health care data,” said Dr. Virginia Caine, director of the Marion County Public Health Department.
