'Heavy' Fire At Lawrence Senior Center; Update Of No Injuries

Report said black smoke from the fire could be seen for miles on Monday.

LAWRENCE, IN β€” The Indianapolis Fire Department said more than 40 units are aggressively working to help the City of Lawrence Fire Department put out heavy flames that broke out just before 1 p.m. Monday at an assisted living facility in Lawrence.

Just before 2:30 p.m. Monday, officials updated an "incorrect" earlier report of two people injured, to no injuries according to WXIN.

Lawrence fire officials ask everyone to avoid the area of Lee Road and 59th Street.
