Semi driver damages overpass bridge on near east side of Indianapolis (fox59.com) — A semi struck and damaged a low-clearance overpass near South Rural Street and Moore Avenue on Indianapolis’ near east side Monday night, but no injuries were reported. Police say the southbound truck hit a clearly marked 10-foot, 3-inch bridge, damaging the semi, its trailer, and the structure. Drivers in the area may notice ongoing bridge damage and response activity. 
2. IMPD: Domestic violence calls surge during holidays (wishtv.com) — Indianapolis police say domestic violence calls typically spike around the holidays, and they’re urging residents to speak up if they see or hear signs of abuse. IMPD officers describe how dangerous these calls can be and stress connecting victims with local help, highlighting resources like the Indy Public Safety Foundation, the Julian Center, the Indianapolis Coalition Against Domestic Violence, and Coburn Place.
3. Docs: Man arrested after climbing on Monument Circle (fox59.com) — Police say a man had to be rescued after climbing the Soldiers & Sailors Monument at Monument Circle in downtown Indianapolis on Christmas Eve, drawing a crowd of adults and children. Fire crews used a ladder to get him down safely. The man was later arrested and now faces a felony cocaine possession charge in Marion Superior Court.
