Officials ID 3 Children Killed In Southern Indiana House Fire
Officials said those able to escape the burning home told them three children were still inside.

TELL CITY, IN β The Indiana Department of Homeland Security said three children died after a Friday morning house fire in Tell City. IDHS said Tell City police were called at 3:25 a.m. to the 1000 block of 15th Street, where fire crews were forced to put out flames shooting out of the first floor before they were able to enter. According to IDHS, a woman and two children were able to escape the house and told first responders three other children were trapped on the second floor.
The IDHS said investigators from the State Fire Marshalβs office reported the three deaths. The victims were identified as Danielle Plock Sims, 11, Thomas Plock Sims, 6, Roseanna Plock Sims, 3.

According to Clayton Kinder, lead investigator with the State Fire Marshal, investigators are talking to survivors in an attempt to figure out what caused the fire. IDHS said according to investigators, the extent of the damage from the flames will make determining a cause quite difficult.
No working smoke alarms have been found at the house and witnesses said none were heard during the fire, IDHS said.

The Indiana State Fire Marshal, operating as part of the Division of Fire and Building Safety in the IDHS, and the Tell City police and fire departments continue investigating the fire, IDHS said.
