5 Students, 2 Adults Hurt In Indianapolis School Bus Crash: IFD

The bus driver and another adult were hurt in addition to five students, a report said.

INDIANAPOLIS, IN β€” Five students and two adults were taken to the hospital due to injuries in a Tuesday afternoon crash involving a Washington Township school bus in downtown Indianapolis, according to WTHR. Witnesses told the new outlet the school bus ran a red light at the intersection of Vermont and Delaware and struck the side of a Stranded Towing truck before crashing into the Roberts Park Church. According to WTHR, an Indianapolis firefighter at the scene reported 37 people were on the bus during the incident.

The five students and two women - a bus driver and teacher - were taken to the hospital for injuries, which WTHR reported appeared to all be minor ones aside from one student who possibly broke a bone. The news report added the tow truck driver was also taken to the hospital for minor injuries.

WTHR said about 15 to 20 students were checked out inside the church, and were taken back to Greenbriar Elementary School to reunite with parents.
