Here are the top stories today in Indianapolis:

  1. A herd of more than 50 domesticated rabbits were rescued from Indy’s Far Eastside neighborhood. Indianapolis Animal Care Services responded to the area of 42nd and Post on Friday on a call of domesticated rabbits running loose and upon arrival, found more than 50 rabbits were dumped in the area. The IACS is trying to figure out who dumped the rabbits, saying it is unlawful for a person to abandon any animal on public or private property in the city. (Fox 59)
  2. An Indianapolis man is suspected of being the leader of a multi-state meth and fentanyl ring. According to federal investigators, the leader of the drug trafficking organization was 38-year-old Julian Green of Indianapolis. Thirty people are facing federal charges in the bust, in which 46 pounds of meth were seized, along with 700 grams of fentanyl, 30 firearms, $300,000 in cash, six vehicles, and a pill press. (WTHR)
  3. A locally grown Christmas tree is now on display at the Indiana Statehouse. (wlfi.com)
  4. An upscale nightclub, Vegas Lounge & Bar, is planned to succeed One Up Arcade, which opened in Nov. 2018 at 723 Broad Ripple Ave. and closed permanently in July 2020. (Indianapolis Business Journal)
  5. Sister pop-rock band HAIM are coming to the TCU Amphitheater at White River State Park on June 1, 2022. (WTHR)
