Bodies Of 3 Young Children Found Submerged In Pond Inside Car: Police
The children and their father had been missing for days, according to Indianapolis police, who said the father's body was also in the pond.

INDIANAPOLIS, IN — Three young children missing for nearly a week were found dead in a car submerged underwater in Indianapolis, according to authorities. Their father was also missing and discovered dead in the pond, officials said.
Police responded around 7:30 p.m. Tuesday to the 2900 block of Bluff Road and found the body of 27-year-old Kyle Moorman in the water, according to authorities. Not long after, a black Saab was detected using sonar and removed from the pond, with the bodies of 5-year-old Kyle Moorman II, 2-year-old Kyannah Holland and 1-year-old Kyran Holland inside, police said.
Moorman and his three children were last seen around 11 p.m. July 6 in the 1000 block of south Sherman Drive, more than 5 miles from where they were found, according to police.

“In these circumstances our rational brains want to know why and how something like this could happen,” Assistant Chief Christopher Bailey said in an overnight press briefing, adding detectives were working to find answers.
The Marion County Coroner’s Office confirmed the identities of the deceased Wednesday morning, but the causes and manners of the deaths were pending.

Moorman often went night fishing at the pond where the bodies were found, according to The Indianapolis Star, and his sister told the newspaper his phone last pinged after midnight Thursday near the pond.
Police searched the pond and other areas on foot and with drones earlier in the week, authorities said, but William Muse, a relative of Moorman’s, told the Star that the family was frustrated investigators hadn’t checked the pond sooner. Family and friends also searched the area for days before the bodies were found, and offered a $10,000 reward for information that led to the discovery of Moorman and the children, the Star reported.
“As we piece this all together we’ll know more about the whys and hows that led us here tonight,” Bailey said.
