1. Prosecutors convinced a Marion Superior Court judge to add a lesser charge of voluntary manslaughter to Tyler Newby. Newby is already facing a murder count for the killing of Dorian Murrell, 18, during the second night of rioting in downtown Indianapolis in 2020. Newby currently remains free on bond and attended the video hearing before Judge Angela Davis. If Newby is convicted of murder, he could spend the rest of his life in prison. (CBS 4 Indianapolis)
2. The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department is seeing an increase in complaints of speeding and reckless driving. The department is encouraging drivers to slow down and give others some room. They said temporary speed traps have been set up as a way to get drivers’ attention. (WISHTV.com)
3. The popular build-your-own taco restaurant, Condado Tacos, will be opening a 4th Indianapolis-area location on Oct. 7 in Saxony Place at 14165 Cabela Pky. (WTHR)
