Here are the top stories today in Indianapolis:
- The University of Indianapolis is turning to an ex-IMPD chief for a campus safety analysis. The university has enlisted the help of former IMPD Chief and Public Safety Director Troy Riggs to analyze UIndy security and safety and take 90 days to propose enhancements for the universityβs southeast side community. UIndy has its own 18-member police force that is four officers short at the present time, augmented by a dozen or more reserve officers. (Fox 59)
- Local fashion production company Midwest Fashion Week hosted βGlobal Fashion Indy,β an invitation-only event celebrating the vibrant international cultures represented in the Lafayette Square area. The event was put on in partnership with the International Marketplace Coalition (IMC) at their new 56,000 square foot Global Village Welcome Center and boasted an art exhibition, international food and beverages, and a runway show featuring local designers of diverse backgrounds. The IMC is hopeful that the recent event is only the beginning of a much-needed change for Indianapolis and beyond. (Indianapolis Recorder)

- A man was found pinned underneath a vehicle in a deadly crash on Saturday night, near an I-65 ramp that exited onto eastbound 38th Street. (CBS 4 Indianapolis)
