Here are the top stories today in Indianapolis:
- A double residence fire on Indyβs near northwest side claimed the life of one animal and caused one family to lose everything. According to the Indianapolis Fire Department, firefighters were dispatched to 1005 W. 32nd Street on multiple calls of smoke being seen from miles away. Firefighters arrived on the scene to find not one, but two homes engulfed in heavy fire. (Fox 59)
- One person is in critical condition after being shot on the cityβs near east side, according to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department. Before 10:30 a.m., officers were called to the area of 20th Street and North Parker Avenue for a person shot. Once on the scene, officers located a person suffering from gunshot wounds. (WISHTV.com)
- Mayor Joe Hogsett has announced the expansion of Indianapolis' rental assistance program, noting that the IndyRent program is accepting applications for up to a year for providing rent relief. (WTTV CBS4Indy)
