- Indianapolis Animal Care Services is asking for patience and understanding as the shelter deals with a space crisis and understaffing. IACS Deputy Director Katie Trenepohl said kennels are full and temporary crates in hallways are now being used for the overflow of animals. Trennepohl said they receive hundreds of emails and voicemails, and often canβt respond right away because they are so understaffed. (WFYI)
- A couple who allowed a man to spend a night in their trailer called Indianapolis police after learning that he was wanted for a hit-and-run that killed an 11-year-old boy. Katie Book says she saw references to John Killough Jr., who was a neighbor's friend, on Facebook after he spent Friday night outside their home. Killough was charged with leaving the scene of an accident on Dec. 11, which resulted in the death of Kyson Beatty. (WANE)
- Indianapolis International Airport Executive Director Mario Rodriquez says the airport has increased the fire and police presence in the morning hours over the next two weeks to help with customer service. According to Rodriquez, staff have been keeping the airport clean at nearly βhospital grade levels,β and states that the airport has used the pandemic as an opportunity to better itself, including the introduction of technological improvements. He suggests travelers arrive at least two hours before their flight and warns the busiest times to fly during the Christmas holiday is in the morning. (WISHTV.com)
