IMPD Deputy Chief Critically Injured In Crash

BREAKING: Reports say Deputy Chief Jim Waters was behind the wheel of a passenger car involved in the crash.

Jim Waters, a deputy chief with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, was critically injured in a crash with a semi Sunday afternoon.

According to the Plainfield Fire Territory, the crash, reported on I-70 near SR 267, involved a semi and a passenger car. One patient was transported in serious condition and the patient might have suffered a medical emergency prior to the accident, fire officials said.

The Indy Channel reports that the driver of the passenger car was IMPD's Deputy Chief of Investigations James Waters.
