Indiana Man Charged After Raping 11-Year-Old He Met On Tinder

Authorities said the victim depicted herself as a 16-year-old on the dating app.

DEARBORN COUNTY, IN β€” An Indiana man has been charged with rape and child molesting stemming from accusations he sexually assaulted an 11-year-old girl he reportedly met on a dating app. WTOL reported 21-year-old Travis McAdams, of Greendale, messaged each other via Snapchat after meeting on Tinder, where she depicted herself as a 16-year-old, Indiana's legal age of consent, according to Dearborn County Prosecuting Attorney Lynn Dedden.

According to a probable cause affidavit, the young victim's mother reported the rape to police after learning about it in March 2018, following the December 2017 or early January 2018 incident when McAdams met the girl at the Greendale Cinema, took her to the back of the building and raped her. The man continued seeing the girl even though he knew she was just 11 years old, Greendale police told the news outlet.

Police said it took months to get the warrants needed for McAdams' Dec. 14 arrest, and he's now being held at the Dearborn Jail on a $200,000 cash bond and a $500,000 surety bond, WTOL said. More women have come forward with similar accusations since McAdams' arrest, according to police.
