Here are the top stories in Indianapolis today:
- An Indianapolis teacher and former probation officer has published a childrenβs book. Lisa Willis is a 4th grade teacher at Victory College Prep on the southeast side of Indianapolis and the author of the recently published book, βA Teacherβs Love.β She has taught all over the world, including Atlanta, Washington, D.C., and Dubai, and is the recipient of a Congressional Teacher Award, as well as a Teach For America award. (Fox 59)
- A man was shot on the 1110 block of W. 33rd Street and taken to the hospital in stable condition on Tuesday morning. It is believed the actual shooting happened in the roadway and not inside of a residence. Police are on the lookout for a burgundy SUV, but at this time, no other suspect information has been released. (CBS4)
- One person is dead after a two-car collision in the 6800 block of North Shadeland Avenue, just south of 71st Street, on Indy's northeast side. (WTHR)
- The Rushville Animal Shelter is raising money at Saturday's Indy Fuel game. (WTHR)
- On Monday, the Indianapolis Zoo announced the birth of a male Addra gazelle calf, who was born on Nov. 6 and weighed 11 pounds at birth. (CBS4)
