- Indianapolis hit a grim milestone on Friday night, marking the city's 200th homicide this year, after a man was killed while sitting in a car. Rev. Charles Harrison of the Ten Point Coalition has been on the frontlines of violence reduction in Indianapolis for more than two decades. He says there are a couple of violence prevention issues that the city has neglected, number one being the bottom-up approach to violence prevention that focuses on the unique problems of individual neighborhoods. - An Indianapolis man has been charged with illegally purchasing a gun that was used to kill a 7-year-old Chicago child in April. 23-year-old Eric Keys Jr. is one of six Indianapolis residents charged last month with making false statements during the purchase of a firearm and making false statements about information required to be kept by licensed firearms dealers. Keys and the others who were recently indicted face a maximum sentence of 10 years in prison and a fine of up to $250,000. (Fox 59)
- A suspect in a multi-home arson case, David Bradshaw, plead guilty to seven counts of arson across Indianapolis over the span of five years. (WTHR)
- A reproductive rights rally drew hundreds of participants to the streets in downtown Indianapolis as part of a nationwide call to action in the wake of the controversial Texas anti-abortion law. (WFYI)
