🌱 Man Hit, Killed While Crossing I-465 + Homicide Arrest

Here are the top stories in Indianapolis today:

1. A man died Thursday night after being hit while attempting to cross I-465 on Indy’s west side. Just before 8 p.m., police were called to northbound I-465 at the 17.5-mile marker on a report of a person hit by a car. Officers arrived and found a man unconscious and unresponsive in the left lane. (WIBC - Indianapolis News & Politics)
2. IMPD homicide detectives arrested a man for a homicide that happened on Indy's near east side Oct. 1. It happened in the 2900 block of East 11th Street just after 11:30 p.m. When officers arrived, they found a man who had been shot and was unresponsive in a car. Medics pronounced him dead at the scene. (WTHR)
3. Indiana Avenue to close over the weekend ahead of cultural trail expansion. (Fox 59)
4. Indianapolis homicides are already on par with the beginning of December 2020. (WTTV CBS4Indy)
5. A Friday morning explosion and house fire that injured five people, two of them seriously, was caused by the construction of an in-ground fire pit this week, according to the Wayne Township Fire Department. (WISHTV.com)
