Here are the top stories in Indianapolis today:
- A man died Thursday night after being hit while attempting to cross I-465 on Indyβs west side. Just before 8 p.m., police were called to northbound I-465 at the 17.5-mile marker on a report of a person hit by a car. Officers arrived and found a man unconscious and unresponsive in the left lane. (WIBC - Indianapolis News & Politics)
- IMPD homicide detectives arrested a man for a homicide that happened on Indy's near east side Oct. 1. It happened in the 2900 block of East 11th Street just after 11:30 p.m. When officers arrived, they found a man who had been shot and was unresponsive in a car. Medics pronounced him dead at the scene. (WTHR)
- Indiana Avenue to close over the weekend ahead of cultural trail expansion. (Fox 59)
- Indianapolis homicides are already on par with the beginning of December 2020. (WTTV CBS4Indy)
- A Friday morning explosion and house fire that injured five people, two of them seriously, was caused by the construction of an in-ground fire pit this week, according to the Wayne Township Fire Department. (WISHTV.com)
