Here are the top three stories today in Indianapolis:
- A 79-year-old woman was wounded in a drive-by shooting on Indyβs near northwest side. The shooting occurred just before 1:40 p.m. in the 2000 block of N. Exeter Avenue near 21st and Tibbs, according to police. It's unclear if the victim was the intended target, or whether it is a case of mistaken identity by the shooter(s). (Fox 59)
- On Jan. 12, KIPP Indy Public Schools will be hosting a vaccine clinic for students, staff, families, and community members. The clinic, located at 1740 E. 30th St., will include the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine and booster shots to eligible children, along with other vaccines. Edna Martin Christian Center, American Red Cross Indiana Region, and Indiana Immunization Coalition partnered with Kipp Indy to make the clinic possible. (Indianapolis Recorder)
- Rhythm! Discovery Center will be offering free admission for Martin Luther King Jr. Day on Jan. 17. Located in the heart of downtown Indianapolis, the interactive percussion and drum museum has a ton of history inside. Through Feb., Ringo Starr's first drum kit he used with The Beatles will be on display at the museum. (WTHR)
