Here are the top three stories today in Indianapolis:

  1. On Saturday afternoon, about 200 supporters gathered at Monument Circle to show their support for the people of Ukraine. Many attendees were former Ukraine residents who now live in Indiana, with many of them communicating with loved ones abroad. A special service to pray for peace in Ukraine also took place yesterday morning at St. Athanasius Byzantine Church. (WISHTV.com)
  2. Students at Indianapolis' Victory College Prep recently donated a series of books to patients in a special club at Riley Hospital for Children. Members of the hospital's Sickle Cell Story Book Club received books written by Black authors, featuring Black and brown characters. In the United States, sickle cell disease is more common among Black and brown families.(WISHTV.com)
  3. According to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, two people were shot inside the city's Jewish Community Center (JCC) on Feb. 26; both victims are in stable condition. IMPD does not believe the shooting was religiously motivated or associated with a hate crime, stating it was likely "connected to a disturbance possibly related to a basketball game." However, due to the incident's location, the cause will be investigated. (LEX18 Lexington KY News)
