Here are the top three stories today in Indianapolis:
- The FDA has authorized a new COVID-19 monoclonal antibody that appears to fight the omicron variant. Monoclonal antibodies are "lab-made proteins that mimic the immune systemβs ability to fight harmful pathogens like the coronavirus." The monoclonal antibody, Bebtelovimab, was made by Indianapolis-based Eli Lilly and Co. It will be given through intravenous injection. (WISHTV.com)
- Seven teenagers have been charged in connection to a series of Indy cellphone store robberies from November to December of last year. According to surveillance footage and eyewitnesses, seven teenagers stormed into cellphone stores with guns drawn, often forcing customers and employees onto the floor. A 42-page affidavit claims the suspects were connected to at least nine robberies and police are currently searching for 19-year-old DβMaurah Bryant who is wanted for a warrant in connection with one of the robberies. - The Indianapolis Fire Department reported that a man was miraculously unharmed after his leg became stuck between the elevator and the ceiling. The fire department was called to the Richard Lugar Towers at 901 Fort Wayne Avenue on a report of a trapped person between the 14th and 15th floors.
