The $30 million DPW project, tied to IndyGo’s Blue Line and the Vision Zero Action Plan, will upgrade streets, sidewalks, signals, and drainage to reduce serious crashes.
   

2. 21-year-old California man sentenced after being found with 45 pounds of meth at Indianapolis airport (wthr.com) — Federal agents intercepted a 21-year-old California man at Indianapolis International Airport with two suitcases containing 45 pounds of meth, leading to a lengthy federal prison sentence. Prosecutors say he repeatedly flew between the West Coast and Midwest as a drug courier before his November 2024 arrest in Indianapolis.

Indianapolis mother sentenced after 3-year-old boy accidently shoots himself in DPW parking lot (wthr.com) — An Indianapolis mother was sentenced Thursday for neglect after her 3-year-old son accessed a gun and shot himself in a car at a DPW parking lot in August 2024. She received one year in community corrections and one year probation, following an earlier sentence for her boyfriend related to the same incident.

Indiana extends health plan enrollment deadline amid high engagement (wishtv.com) — Indianapolis residents on Medicaid’s Healthy Indiana Plan or PathWays now have until Dec. 24 to choose a new health plan, following MDwise’s exit from state programs. The state reports high demand for help and will auto-enroll anyone who doesn’t choose, with a 90-day window to switch afterward.
