1. Memorial service honors those who died while experiencing homelessness in Marion County (wthr.com) — Indianapolis residents and city leaders gathered at Roberts Park United Methodist Church to honor 135 neighbors who died while experiencing homelessness this year. The annual winter solstice service featured candles, prayers, and personal stories, while Mayor Joe Hogsett highlighted efforts like Streets to Home Indy and the new Housing Hub emergency shelter. Speakers urged the community to show daily care and support for people living on the streets.
   

2. IMPD investigating shots fired incident at Airbnb on Indy's near north side (wthr.com) — Police are investigating reports of shots fired at an Airbnb on North Delaware Street near 16th and Meridian on Indy’s near north side early Sunday morning. IMPD says the case involves alleged reckless use of a handgun and rifle and vandalism, with Airbnb and two others listed as victims. No details on injuries or arrests have been released yet.
   

3. Patrons under the age of 30 to be barred from entering Georgia Street Lounge in downtown Indianapolis (fox59.com) — If you’re under 30, you’ll soon be turned away at Georgia Street Rhythm and Blues Lounge in downtown Indianapolis, which plans to restrict entry to guests 30 and older. Management says younger patrons don’t fit its “grown and sexy” vibe, and recent police runs to the Georgia Street address add context to the stricter policy.
   

4. Nearly 3 million Hoosiers expected to travel during holiday surge (wishtv.com) — Heavy holiday traffic is expected across Indiana, and Indianapolis drivers will see Hoosier Helper patrols on local interstates offering traffic control, minor medical aid, and roadside assistance. AAA projects 2.9 million Hoosiers traveling through Jan. 1, with the worst congestion from 1–7 p.m. on Dec. 22–23 and lighter traffic on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
   

5. Reducing holiday stress for Hoosier families impacted by Alzheimer's, dementia (wrtv.com) — Indianapolis families caring for loved ones with Alzheimer’s or dementia are being urged to manage expectations, stay flexible with traditions, and lean on support during holiday gatherings. The Alzheimer’s Association Greater Indiana Chapter shares practical tips, highlights high caregiver stress levels in Indiana, and reminds residents of its 24/7 helpline for guidance and emotional support.
