Here are the top three stories in Indianapolis today:

  1. Two people suffered injuries after a police chase ended in a car crash on Indy's south side. At around 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday morning, police chased a car for several minutes, traveling through numerous streets before the car flipped in the 2300 block of Lee Drive, near Stop 11 and Madison Avenue. According to police, one person from the car was transported to Eskenazi Hospital and the driver of the car may have a warrant out of Shelby County. (WTHR)
  2. An Indianapolis native is celebrating her late daughter's birthday by sharing her story in a way she hopes helps other kids. Brandy James has been working on her book for ten years, since James’ daughter, Makenna Clark, passed away of a rare disease when she was 4-years-old. James sees her children’s book, β€œMakenna the Mighty,” as a way to help children understand illnesses, for parents to start a conversation with their kids, and to find comfort that they’re not alone. (WISH TV Indianapolis, IN)
  3. The Benjamin Harrison Presidential Site is seeking Black-owned food vendors in preparation for a new Juneteenth festival. In addition to all the proceeds from their sales, participating businesses β€” whether it be a restaurant, a pop-up, or a caterer β€” will get a $300 stipend for taking part in the Juneteenth Foodways Festival. Businesses interested in partnering have until Mar. 31 to apply for the festival, which takes place on Jun. 17 at the site on Delaware Street. (FOX 59 Indianapolis)
