Here are the top stories in Indianapolis today:

  1. The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department is investigating a potential murder-suicide on the city's southeast side. Officers responded to the 7800 block of Tanza Road just after 10 a.m. Friday and found a man and woman with possible gunshot wounds. They were pronounced dead on the scene. Police say they believe this involved some sort of domestic dispute. While they say murder-suicide is likely in this case, detectives are looking at every angle. (Fox 59)
  2. A man’s body has been found in an Indianapolis-area trash transfer station. Workers at the company in Lawrence discovered the body about 9:15 a.m. Thursday as they were in the process of transferring trash to a landfill. Police said the body was believed to have arrived at the facility in a collection vehicle within 24 hours of it being found; the body's previous location is yet to be determined. (WANE)
  3. The Indianapolis EMS will be giving free flu shots during four drive-thru clinics through Oct. (WIBC - Indianapolis News & Politics)
  4. The Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles will temporarily close eight branches for October, including two Indy locations, due to staffing shortages. (Fox 59)
