- An Indianapolis man has been sentenced to 55 years in prison for killing a Greenwood father. Dwight Shotts was convicted of murder in December 2021 for taking the life of Tony Cline in April 2018. Shotts previously admitted to a 911 operator that he shot a man in his bathroom and didnβt want to call the police, but then later took back his confession. (WTHR)
- Veal's Ice Tree has returned after not being up for the past two years. Visitors are welcome to view the Ice Tree at 6445 Mimosa Lane on Indy's southeast side, however, they are asked to remain on the pavement. The event is free and no donations will be accepted by the family. (WTHR)
- A new program has been announced to help bring more educators of color to Indianapolis Public Schools. The Proving Whatβs Possible initiative aims to improve the recruitment and retention of high-quality teachers of color through a paid, year-long residency. Currently, 85 percent of the student population identifies as Black or Latino, compared to 26 percent of IPS teachers. (WFYI)
