Here are the top three stories in Indianapolis today:

  1. Rolls-Royce will invest $400 million into its Indianapolis and West Lafayette engine test facilities. On Thursday, the company announced plans to upgrade β€œfull engine test capabilities” in Indianapolis. Various engines will be tested at the facility after the upgrade, including the U.S. Air Force’s B-52 bomber fleet. (WISH TV Indianapolis, IN)
  2. The massive fire at the Walmart distribution center near Indianapolis was still burning as of Thursday. The fire began at the online order fulfillment distribution center northwest of Indianapolis on Wednesday and was mostly extinguished. However, smoke and flames were still seen around 5 a.m. from a row of semis on Thursday morning. (WHIO)
  3. One person was killed and another was injured in a car crash on the east side of Indianapolis on Thursday morning. At around 7:45 a.m., police were called to the scene at the Massachusetts Avenue and East 30th Street intersection, underneath the Emerson Avenue overpass, and found two vehicles involved in a crash. One person died of injuries, and the other was transported to a hospital in unknown condition. (WTHR)
