Sign Up For 'Region's Largest Pet Walk': IndyHumane's Mutt Strut
Each year, around 4,000 people and their dogs (and some cats) participate in the annual fundraiser at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

INDIANAPOLIS, IN β IndyHumane announced that registration is now open for its 15th annual Mutt Strut fundraiser. IndyHumane said the event, known as βthe greatest spectacle in dog walkingβ and the regionβs largest pet walk, will take place 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., April 27 at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
Each year, around 4,000 people and their dogs (and some cats) participate in the annual fundraiser, IndyHumane said, as participants have the unique opportunity to walk the historic Indianapolis Motor Speedway track, kiss the bricks and enjoy a fun day outdoors with family and furry friends all while supporting IndyHumane.
IndyHumane said in a release sent to Patch that Mutt Strut their largest fundraiser and "helps the organization take in animals, provide medical care, and find cats and dogs their forever home."

IndyHumane said they serve approximately 10,000 animals annually, from adoption services to low-cost vaccinations to life-saving surgeries. It is the only shelter in the state with a fully staffed medical team and surgery suite, allowing the nonprofit organization to care for animals that come to the shelter, as well as animals that need help from other shelters and rescue groups.
Participants can register as an individual or join a team. Volunteer opportunities are also available for set up, registration, vendor assistance, and entertainment teams.
