1. As violent crime in Indianapolis reaches record levels, community organizations and businesses are stepping up to try and help prevent it. One of those ways includes a new partnership between the Skateland roller-skating rink and IMPD. The rink has given the police department 300 golden tickets to hand out to local youth for free admission, giving teens and children something to occupy their time rather than turning to criminal activity. 2. A special Eagle Scout ceremony at an Indy church honored the legacy of former scout Braxton Ford. Ford was one of four young people killed in a 2020 quadruple homicide. On Saturday, Tra’ell Streeter, Charlie Pickett, and Johnathan Lee of Troop 276 unveiled their Eagle Scout project at the New Fellowship Family Church. The three young men built benches and a fire pit outside of the church, along with flowerbeds. (Fox 59)
