Squared Circle Expo II Update
Just over three months away, things are heating up at SCX II with new announcements.

The Squared Circle Expo II is just over three months away. Running April 15-16 at the Wyndham Indianapolis West, SCX II is shaping up to be bigger and better than its' highly successful debut last year.

I'll let the fine folks at SCX describe the event. “A convention dedicated to the culture of professional wrestling and sports entertainment, Squared Circle Expo will feature a weekend of stars both past and present, representing not only the world in the ring but also outside it in the areas of pop culture, music, and even the silver screen! Aside from celebrity meet and greets, fans will also be treated to a full schedule of seminars and Q&A panels, exhibits, memorabilia dealers, a LIVE wrestling event, after hours activities, and so much more!”
Last year, after a postponement due to the pandemic, SCX was one of the first conventions anywhere. A debut convention any time is a challenge. A debut convention during a pandemic is a challenge of epic proportion, but the folks at SCX met that challenge and surpassed all expectations.

It's no exaggeration when I state it was the best debut of a convention I have seen. While still at SCX last year, I texted several friends telling them they were missing a great show and needed to come in 2022. When info started being announced for SCX II, I immediately secured my ticket and hotel and sent reminders to many friends.

Several guest announcements were made a couple months back and recently a new bunch of guests were added to the already-packed lineup. Already announced guests include Chelsea Green, Matt Cardona, Ted DiBiase, Brian Myers, The Good Brothers (Karl Anderson and Doc Gallows), Alan 5 Angels, The Headbangers (Thrasher and Mosh), The Lucha Bros., FTR (Cash Wheeler and Dax Harwood), Sammy Guevara, Abadon, Fuego Del Sol, Santana & Ortiz, Swoggle, Ethan Page, Lex Luger, Ricky “The Dragon” Steamboat and The New Age Outlaws (Billy Gunn and Road Dogg Jesse James). This list already covers wrestlers from many decades and several companies. The SCX promoters aren't done though. More announcements are promised. Last year's guest lineup was collectively one of the most fan-friendly groups I have seen.

SCX II will be taking over the entirety of the Wyndham Indianapolis West’s 35,000 square feet of meeting space, transforming it into a pro wrestling fan’s paradise. One of the coolest features is the Grand Ballroom, with its' 10,000 square feet becoming the setting for Saturday night's live wrestling.

Vendors are also a big part of SCX. Last year, there were many tables of awesome merchandise. I picked up a few tshirts, as well as some Rowdy Roddy Piper artwork. Unlike other conventions that have wrestlers as a small part, SCX is all wrestlers and the merch tables reflect that.

There is one other aspect of SCX II that is very important. Friends are a huge part of the event. I already know of friends from six different states who are attending SCX II and I expect a few more. I'll see friends I don't see often, as well as friends I see at many Chicago-area wrestling shows and other events. It really is like one big family reunion.

Finally, I would be remiss if I did not mention the promoters. From the first ever announcement way back, the promoters have communicated frequently on social media, updating the health protocols, announcing new guests and giving all other necessary info. They work tirelessly to make the event run smoothly and be enjoyable to all. They are on-site, hands-on making SCX a fantastic event.
