Swensons Drive-In Now Open in Avon

Hoosiers can get their cars ready to cruise on in to Swensons Drive-Ins, which recently opened its newest location in Avon on Monday, Feb. 6 in grand fashion, by awarding free Swensons for a year to the first 20 guests, in honor of this being the 20th Swensons location. Swensons Avon is the first Indiana location for the Ohio-based chain, which has built a 90-year reputation for serving fresh-grilled burgers, handspun milkshakes and crispy sides brought right to guests’ vehicles.

The grand opening promotion didn’t stop there – the first 100 guests also received one complimentary Swensons Galley Boy burger! Additionally, Swensons will award one additional “Free Swensons for a Year'' prize via an online drawing after its first month of operation.

The highly anticipated Swensons Avon is located just off Rockville Road at 8894 U.S. Highway 36, Avon, IN 46123.

Swensons is best known for its signature hamburgers, including the famous Galley Boy, which is a double cheeseburger topped with two secret sauces and iconic green olive on a toothpick. But Swensons’ menu has something for everyone – from a fried bologna sandwich to a meatless Salad Boy (Swensons’ signature veggie burger), not to mention 18 different milkshake flavors!

Swensons sold its first burger in 1934 when Wesley T. “Pop” Swenson began serving customers out of the back of his family station wagon. The operation soon moved to a single hamburger stand where Swensons embraced the drive-in model. Nearly ninety years later, the Swensons' experience remains largely unchanged.
