Here are the top three stories in Indianapolis today:
- Three people were injured in separate shootings on the east side of Indianapolis Thursday morning. Police responded to a report of a person shot at around 5:30 a.m and found one victim shot near the 2100 block of North Drexel Avenue, near East 21st Street, and a second victim in the 1900 block of North Bosart Avenue. At around 6:15 a.m., police responded to another call and found a person shot at the intersection of 25th Street and Hillside Avenue. (WTHR)
- As temperatures dropped during the winter weather system on Thursday, the Indy Snow Force hit the streets. Beginning at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, crews were deployed to treat major and secondary streets against potentially icy conditions. Because of the potential for freezing rain and sleet, Snow Force drivers were strategic in deploying ice-melting material in order to prevent it from being washed away by heavy rainfall, according to The Indianapolis Department of Public Works. (WTHR)
- The Indiana Department of Health (IDOH) has released a number of changes affecting Indianapolis residents, and those across the state. Testing and vaccinations sites near Indianapolis Motor Speedway will end Feb. 26 and hospital support from the Indiana National Guard will end March 14. In addition, schools will no longer have to conduct contract tracing or report positive cases to IDOH. (WISHTV.com)
