This grant is specific to an elementary school program called JA Our Community. JA Our Community introduces 2nd grade students to the intersection of work readiness and social studies learning objectives, including how citizens benefit from and contribute to a community's success. Additionally, this funding will support our JA BizTown® & FinancePark® programming. The JA BizTown® program provides educators with lessons and resources to effectively integrate financial literacy and work and career readiness into 5th and 6th grade classrooms. The program supports critical thinking skills and student engagement, and helps students connect the dots between what they learn in school and the real world. JA FinancePark® helps 8th & 9th grade students build a foundation for making intelligent, lifelong personal-finance decisions. students act as adults for a day and make personal financial decisions in an in-person simulation. Students develop lifelong financial skills through the program's in-class and simulated experiences.
Many State Farm employees volunteer their time through our in-school programming, as well as in JA BizTown® & FinancePark®.

In addition to State Farms continued support of the organization’s programs, a State Farm representative has held a seat at the local board level for many years. Playing an active role in vision casting for the organization and fundraising. Additionally, local representative, Jim Slaven, sits on our local senior council committee.
Local Independent State Farm agents also actively participate in local fundraising events and support the event through sponsorships. Most recently, agents were sponsors of our Play4JA: Achieve-A-Bowl and Designer Purse Bingo.
The funding we receive has helped us to continue the programs that we currently run and also allowed us to offer more programs to the schools at no charge. We are grateful for their continued investment into our organization and inspiring students to become leaders in the classroom and in our community.
