- "México en el Corazón" returns to Lafayette today (Aug. 29) for a special performance at the Long Center for the Performing Arts. This performance will feature dances, music, and songs from several Mexican states and will include mariachi, Norteño, and marimba bands. This free performance begins at 6:00 p.m., with theater doors opening at 5:30 p.m. (Journal & Courier)
- Today, the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) of West Central Indiana will cut the ribbon on its first "Living Room" in the state. The NAMI West Central Indiana Living Room will be a safe space for people facing mental health crises, where they can get solace, support, and services. The Living Room will be staffed by trained peer recovery support specialists, providing an invaluable resource for those struggling with mental health issues. (wlfi.com)
- Forbes has released its annual list of “America’s Best Employers by State,” with Indiana's portion list including 73 companies ranked according to market research survey data. Participants across the state ranked employers across several categories, including work environment, gender pay equity, and opportunities for advancement. Munster-based Community Healthcare System was ranked number one in the state, followed by Microsoft, Indianapolis-based Community Health Network, Kentucky-based Norton Healthcare, and Massachusetts-based Raytheon Technologies.
