- Amplified Sciences, a life sciences diagnostic company, has received a $400,000 grant from the National Cancer Institute to develop a new diagnostic test for pancreatic cysts. The test aims to accurately assess whether the cysts are benign or potentially malignant, helping health care providers make informed decisions about surgery. The company's products are based on technology invented by a Purdue University professor, and the grant will support important milestones such as clinical trials and sample procurement. - Following a crash on Tuesday morning, State Road 25 has been reopened, although the current conditions of the two individuals taken to the hospital remain unknown as of Jul. 13. The two-vehicle collision occurred when a Chevrolet Avalon traveling eastbound crossed the center line and collided head-on with a Jeep Compass near County Road 275 South. The driver of the Chevrolet was airlifted in critical condition to an Indianapolis hospital, while the Jeep's driver was transported to a local hospital. (wlfi.com)
- The Food Finders Food Bank located on Greenbush Street has received a grant of $29,000 from the Duke Energy Foundation as part of their larger donation to hunger relief programs in Indiana communities, aiming to alleviate hunger among local families. The CEO and president of Food Finders expressed their intention to utilize the grant to expand their mobile pantry services, ensuring consistent and reliable access to additional resources for the communities they serve. In addition to the local area, several other counties including Benton, Carroll, Cass, Montgomery, Warren, Fountain, Fulton, Howard, Miami, and Tipton will benefit from this grant. (wlfi.com)
