Two arrested, charged after alleged carjacking leads to police chase in South Bend (wsbt.com) — An early-morning carjacking in South Bend led to a police chase and the arrest of two 18-year-olds after officers tracked the stolen vehicle from Lincoln Way West to Taylor Street. The victim told police he’d offered the suspects a ride before one pulled a handgun and took his car. One suspect now faces multiple felony charges, while the other is charged with resisting law enforcement.
   

2. What to know about three affordable housing projects in South Bend (southbendtribune.com) — Three major affordable housing developments are bringing 272 income-restricted apartments and about $75 million in investment to South Bend neighborhoods, all backed by newly awarded state tax credits. After photos of his truck spread online, a GoFundMe organized by a local detail shop owner quickly raised $10,000, leaving Riles overwhelmed with gratitude.
   

4. South Bend police tapes bench trial concludes, decision delayed until March (wndu.com) — A long-running dispute over recordings of South Bend police phone calls has reached a key bench trial in Mishawaka, but the judge won’t rule until March. Testimony from three retired South Bend officers focused on how calls were recorded and whether Indiana’s wiretapping law was violated, with the case tied to actions under former Mayor Pete Buttigieg’s administration.
