Ankeny PD searches for possible victims in alleged cryptocurrency scam (who13.com) — Ankeny police are asking local residents to come forward if they may have lost money in a Missouri-based cryptocurrency investment scheme tied to meetings in Ankeny and the Des Moines metro last summer. Investigators believe there could be additional area victims and urge anyone contacted by Burri Asset Management or with similar crypto losses to call the non-emergency line and file a report.
   

2. Cops bust huge ring that stole used cooking oil to be sold as biodiesel (truckersnews.com) — Ankeny is directly tied to a major federal case, with prosecutors alleging stolen used cooking oil from restaurants across multiple states was funneled through a warehouse in the city before being sold for biodiesel. Thirteen people are charged in a racketeering and money-laundering scheme, and several defendants have already appeared in federal court in Des Moines.
   

3. Eastern Iowa massage therapist agrees to stop practicing during sexual contact investigation (kcrg.com) — An Ankeny massage business owner has been sanctioned by Iowa’s licensing board for allowing unlicensed workers to perform massages at Bandung Massage, resulting in a warning and a $2,000 civil penalty. In a separate Waterloo case, another therapist agreed to stop practicing while allegations of inappropriate contact are investigated, highlighting increased state scrutiny of massage practices.
   

4. Hayek, Thode named supervisor leadership (messengernews.net) — Webster County supervisors have tapped Ankeny-based Snyder & Associates to design and bid a 160th Street paving project, a contract capped at $65,175. The meeting also reshuffled board leadership and approved other administrative appointments and infrastructure spending for the year, signaling priorities that could involve Ankeny firms in regional work.
   

5. Millang leads PCM girls to fourth at Raccoon River Wrestling ADM Invitational (newtondailynews.com) — Ankeny’s girls wrestling team was part of a deep 11-school field at the ADM Invitational, where PCM finished fourth overall. The tournament showcased several central Iowa programs, with Ankeny scoring 66.5 points while PCM’s Hadley Millang and teammates turned in multiple podium finishes.
