
Coralville, IA – Chris Lynch announced today that he is running for a seat on the Iowa City Community School District Board of Education.
The Lynch for School Board campaign committee will officially file his nomination papers on July 8.
“The Iowa City Community School District is at an important crossroads that requires leaders that can develop and implement a comprehensive plan for the future. Chris Lynch has demonstrated those skills both at Procter & Gamble and as a co-leader of One District – Yes campaign.
It’s time for the district to move forward together,” said former school board member, Don Jackson. “It is time for the district to move forward together. We need leaders like Chris who has the skills and commitment to work through the issues, and get the district moving in a direction that benefits all of our children.”
Lynch is a long time resident of Johnson County and has 21 years of experience as a leader at Procter & Gamble. He has been involved with various Master Planning activities with the school district since 2004, and was instrumental in the planning for the ‘One District-Yes’ campaign that led to the successful revenue purpose statement vote in February. Lynch currently serves as a member of the Comprehensive School Improvement Planning Advisory Committee.
Lynch and his wife, Sheri, have two children attending high school within the district.
