His team-focused leadership, aggressive enrollment campaigns, and new career and “Dream Accelerator” programs are boosting enrollment, strengthening trust, and expanding postsecondary options for students across Iowa City and neighboring communities.

Wanted burglary suspect arrested at Iowa City pharmacy (1630kcjj.com) — Iowa City Police arrested a wanted burglary suspect Monday night at the CVS on Muscatine Avenue after recognizing she had an active warrant. The woman is accused of breaking into an occupied Town & Campus Apartments unit on Arthur Street and now faces burglary and drug paraphernalia charges carrying potential prison time.
   

3. Iowa City man faces weapons, drunk driving charges after crashing car into snow bank (1630kcjj.com) — Iowa City police charged a 62-year-old local driver with intoxicated driving and a weapons offense after he allegedly went the wrong way on Dodge Street and slid into a snowbank near College Street. Officers reported signs of alcohol use, a high breath test result, and a loaded firearm in the vehicle, with potential penalties including up to three years in jail if convicted.
   

4. Crashes on I-80 Saturday involved more than 50 vehicles (thegazette.com) — Iowa City Fire Department was among several agencies responding to a massive series of crashes on I-80 Saturday that involved more than 50 vehicles and injured dozens. The interstate was shut down between mile markers 256 and 262 for hours while crews triaged up to 50 people. No fatalities were reported, and officials praised the coordination among regional responders.
