Iowa State Patrol: Semi Driver Injured After Rollover at Interstate 80 to Interstate 380 Merge Area

The driver was taken by ground ambulance to the hospital for evaluation.


A 24-year-old truck driver from Chicago suffered non fatal injuries Tuesday morning after his truck rolled into the area where Interstate 80 links to Interstate 380.

According to the Iowa State Patrol crash report, Robert Manjarrez, 24, of Chicago was driving west on Interstate 80 and attempting to merge onto Interstate 380. However, Manjarrez then lost control while negotiating the ramp and rolled back onto the merge lane on Interstate 80, blocking it with the truck.

Manjarrez, who was wearing a seat belt according to the report, was transported to the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics via a ground ambulance for evaluation of his injuries.
