Kids Hit Summer Boredom? 5 Low Cost Things to Do at Sycamore Mall

It's summertime, which means the kids are home. Here's some ideas to drop by Sycamore Mall.

Tired of seeing your kids zoned out on screen time or bugging you because they are bored?

Here's a few options for getting them out of the house at Sycamore Mall:

1. Paint pottery by yourself, with family or a friend at Renee's Ceramics. You can spend 25 minutes, an hour or an afternoon.

2. Go for a walk or a bike ride with a snack, such as ice cream at Dairy Queen, or a cookie at Cookies and More, as your destination.

3. Learn a new board game - note "board" not "bored" - at Hobby Corner. Hobby Corner allows you to rent a wide variety of board games to play in the game room. Don't know how to play, they'll play a few rounds with you to get you going.

4. Catch a movie. There's special $2 movies at 10 a.m. on Tuesdays, Wednesday and Thursdays through Aug. 15. It's part of the Kids Dream Summer Movie Series at Marcus Theaters in Sycamore Mall, plus there's matinee price movies until 5:30 p.m. daily.

5. Escape the heat and stretch your legs with a walk around the mall.
