Police: Iowa City Man Charged with Stealing $46,000 Worth of Computers from UIHC

The man is accused of selling the thousands of dollars worth of used and new computers for his own gain over a seven year period.


An Iowa City man is facing several felony charges after he allegedly spent seven years defrauding the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics by selling used and new computers belonging to the UIHC for his own personal profit.

In police complaints from the University of Iowa Police Department, authorities charge Brian Craig Manary, 34, of Iowa City of selling $46,168 worth of computers from April 2006 until May 2013.

Manary was booked into the Johnson County Jail early this morning according to online jail records on the charges of ongoing criminal conduct in an enterprise, a Class B felony and first-degree theft, a Class C felony. His bail was set at $50,000 but he paid bail and was released at 12:44 p.m. this afternoon.
