Police: Man Wanted on Warrant Found with 17 Grams of Cocaine in his Sock
An Iowa City man found for an unrelated warrant allegedly had the misfortune of being found with a felony quantity of cocaine on his person.

A man facing an active arrest warrant will now face an additional serious felony charge after he was found with multiple eight balls of cocaine in his sock.
Enrique Miguel Tharrington, 36, of Iowa City was arrested on an active warrant out of Johnson County according to Iowa City police records. Tharrington was observed by officers in the area of the Dolphin Lake Apartment complex at 2401 Highway 6 E.
During a search following the arrest police allegedly found a small plastic bag containing a white, powdery substance in Tharrington's sock. The substance was later determined to be 16.65 grams of cocaine.
Possession of more than 10 grams of cocaine base with intent to distribute under Iowa law is a Class C Felony. Tharrington was booked into the Johnson County Jail on that charge and on an additional charge of operating a vehicle while intoxicated. He remains there on $17,000 bail.
According to Iowa court records this is the first felony on Tharrington's record besides a felony charge that was later dismissed. He has been charged with numerous misdemeanors, most of them minor.
