- Asa Hutchinson, a 2024 presidential candidate and former governor of Arkansas, will be the keynote speaker at the Southern Kentucky Lincoln Day dinner on Apr. 14 at the National Corvette Museum. The dinner raises funds for the Republican Party of Warren County and will also feature appearances by five Republican primary candidates for governor, including Daniel Cameron, Kelly Craft, Ryan Quarles, Mike Harmon, and Alan Keck. This event provides an opportunity for voters in Warren County to see the top candidates in one place before the May primary. (wnky.com)
- Mark Anthony Williams, a businessman from Bowling Green, has pleaded guilty to a federal charge of bank fraud. Williams, who oversaw the Franklin Shoppes company, admitted to submitting inflated invoices under a fake company's name to PBI Bank to pay for expenses related to other unrelated projects and business interests, while construction company S&R, who had performed substantial work on the project, remained largely unpaid. Under the plea agreement, Williams will pay a $50,000 fine, be placed on supervised release for two years after spending one day incarcerated, and will be sentenced on Jul. 18. - Western Kentucky University President Tim Caboni collaborated with the DEI team to establish the President's Award for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI), which recognizes members of the university community who have made outstanding contributions to advancing DEI. This award celebrates individuals who promote discussion and action through advocacy, role modeling, scholarship, and service. Aurelia Spaulding, FabiΓ‘n Γlvarez, and Layla Dalton are the 2023 awardees and will be honored at two separate events this month. (WKU News)

- The Kentucky Museum has opened the 1810 Felts Log House for tours during regular museum hours. The cabin, built by Archibald Felts in 1810, was moved to the Western Kentucky University campus in 1968 and is now used by the museum as a living history classroom to provide visitors with a glimpse into daily life in the early 19th century. - Warren County's Relay for Life fundraiser for the American Cancer Society is hosting a cancer survivor dinner on Apr. 29 at Greenwood Baptist Church to recognize and honor cancer survivors. The main Relay for Life event will be held on Jun. 17 at the Bowling Green Ballpark, where luminarias can be purchased and dedicated to loved ones who have battled cancer. (Bowling Green Daily News)
- Band Together BG will host a benefit concert on May 6, featuring Tyrone Dunn and Kin-Foke with special guest The Unpredictables. All proceeds from the event will be donated to various charities in the area, including the Kiwanis Club of BG, The Boys and Girls Club of BG, and the Kentucky Veteranβs Brigade. Tickets cost $20 and can be purchased here. (WBKO)
