Caddo Parish School Calendar 2017-18: First Day Of School, Vacations, Conferences

The first day of school in Caddo Parish is August 14. Feel free to mark it on your calendar as one of the most dreaded days of the year for students and teachers — and feel free not to feel guilty about marking it as one of your favorites. The Caddo Parish Public School District has released its 2017-2018 calendar for public schools.

The calendar includes important dates such as winter and spring vacations, religious holidays, federal holidays, early dismissals and parent-teacher conferences.

• 8/3 - 8/7: New Teacher Professional Development
• 8/9 - 8/11: All Teachers Professional Development Days
• 8/14: First Day of School

September

• 9/4: No School (Labor Day)

October

• 10/13: First Reporting Period Ends
• 10/16 - 10/18: No School (Fall Break)
• 10/19: Second Reporting Period Begins

November

• 10/20 - 10/14: No School (Thanksgiving Holiday)

December

• 12/20: Second Reporting Period Ends, First Semester Ends
• 12/21 - 1/5: No School (Christmas Holiday)

January

• 1/8: Third Reporting Period Begins, Second Semester Begins
• 1/15: No School (Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday)
• 1/16: No School for Students (Teachers Professional Development Day)

February

• 2/19 - 2/21: No School (Presidents' Day Holiday, Winter Break)

March

• 3/9: Third Reporting Period Ends
• 3/12: Fourth Reporting Period Begins
• 3/26 - 3/30: No School (Spring Break)

April

• 4/2: No School (Easter Holiday)
• 4/30 - 5/3: Senior Exams

May

• 5/3: Senior Last Day
• 5/14 - 5/17: Final Exams
• 5/17: Last Day for Students, Fourth Reporting Period Ends, Second Semester Ends
• 5/18: Teachers Last Day
