City leaders say the project should also boost water and sewer revenue and create strong local job opportunities for graduates from area colleges and technical schools. Developers have not yet announced when construction will begin.

Overton Brooks VA celebrates 75 years of serving veterans (ktbs.com) — Overton Brooks VA Medical Center in Shreveport is marking 75 years of caring for veterans, highlighting its growth from a historic military site into a major regional healthcare hub. Longtime staff and patients shared memories of decades of service, while leaders noted modern upgrades like new clinics, a parking garage, and a renovated dialysis department that continue to expand care for veterans across the Ark-La-Tex.

Discover job opportunities at Shreveport's Blue Goose Fair (ktalnews.com) — Shreveport job seekers can mark their calendars for the Blue Goose Community Development job fair at Princess Park on February 20, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Local and regional employers will offer on-the-spot interviews, job leads, and connections to training and certification programs. Attendees are encouraged to bring multiple resumes and be ready to apply.
   

4. Suspect in Shreveport assault also charged with attempted murder (ktalnews.com) — A downtown Shreveport assault that left a victim badly beaten has been linked to a suspect now jailed in Acadia Parish on separate attempted murder charges. Authorities say community tips helped identify Luis Morales, who also faces battery charges in Caddo Parish, and they’re continuing to investigate the violent attack.
   

5. Shreveport man killed in two-vehicle crash in Reserve: LSP (wgno.com) — A 21-year-old man from Shreveport died after state police say his car ran a red light and struck an 18-wheeler on Airline Highway in Reserve. Troopers report he wasn’t wearing a seatbelt and died at a local hospital, while the truck driver was uninjured and the crash remains under investigation.
