The well-loved annual tradition prepares our future female leaders with a variety of skills including goal setting, decision making, money management, people skills and business ethics.
“We focus on these five skills to teach young women how to run their own business, but they will learn so much more, especially with the digital cookie platform” said Franchesca Posey, Chief Operating Officer for the Girl Scout Council. “It’s really teaching them how to be in the world of e-commerce and use multi-channels to increase their sales. They have their own unique cookie sites that they create, it’s really cool!”
It also provides community members with a range of delicious cookies including favorites like the Thin Mints, coconut caramel Samoas and peanut butter oatmeal Do-si-dos. This year’s cookie line-up also features a new player — Adventurefuls, a brownie cookie topped with caramel and a hint of sea salt.
Standard cookies are $5 per box and specialty items are $6. All proceeds remain local with the council and troops use their earnings to fund activities like overnight camps, international trips, or their ongoing service projects.
