Harford County Opens Libraries as Cooling Centers

In light of Tuesday's heat advisory and a forecast for soaring temperatures throughout the week, Harford County is offering local libraries as cooling centers.

The local library branches will serve as places to beat the heat during normal operating hours.

The Aberdeen Library branch is located at 21 Franklin Street and is open 1 - 8 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays, 10 a.m. - 8 p.m. Monday and Wednesdays and 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. on Fridays.

The libraries will serve as cooling stations now through Friday, July 19.

All Harford County Public Library hours of operation are as follows: 

Tuesday and Thursday:

• Bel Air Library, 100 E. Pennsylvania Avenue, open 11 a.m. - 8 p.m.
• Darlington Library, 1134 Main Street, open 3 - 8 p.m.
• All other branches open 1 - 8 p.m.

• Darlington Library open 3 - 8 p.m.
  
• All other branches open 10 a.m. - 8 p.m.

• Darlington Library open 1 - 5 p.m.
• All other branches open 10 a.m. - 5 p.m.
