18-Year-Old Pilot Hurt In Anne Arundel Plane Crash: MD State Police
An 18-year-old pilot was hurt making an emergency landing with his small plane in Anne Arundel County Saturday, Maryland State Police said.
ANNE ARUNDEL COUNTY, MD — An 18-year-old pilot was injured Saturday afternoon after his single-engine plane made an emergency landing in Anne Arundel County, the Maryland State Police said in a news release.
Troopers from the Annapolis Barrack responded to the crash at Triton Beach Road and Shoreham Beach Road just before 4 p.m.
The Cessna aircraft lost power before the teen pilot was forced to make an emergency landing, state police said.

He was brought to Capital Regional Medical Center in Prince George’s County for treatment. Authorities have not yet released the pilot's name.
Though the intersection was initially closed down, one-way traffic was being intermittently allowed around 6:30 p.m. pending the arrival of agencies and resources to help with the investigation, the Anne Arundel County Police Department posted to X, formerly Twitter.

Photos from the crash show the plane nose down in the trees along a road near Shoreham Beach Road and Triton Beach Road in Mayo, according to Fox 5 DC.
The National Transportation Safety Board and the Federal Aviation Administration were among the agencies that responded to the scene, state police said.
