$1M Winner in Maryland! Here's the Mega Millions Winning Numbers

There's just one ticket purchased for Friday night's Mega Millions drawing with the wining numbers, worth an estimated $540 million. But there are 10 other million-dollar tickets this morning, including one in Maryland.

The winning numbers were:

• 8-19-20-55-73 with a mega ball of 5

The jackpot is the seventh largest lottery jackpot in U.S. history, gaming officials said. The one-time cash payout option for Friday's game, if you win, is estimated at $381 million.

It's the third largest jackpot in Mega Millions history, and the most ever one on a single ticket, according to lottery officials. The winning ticket was purchased in Indiana.

Matching the first 5 numbers is worth $1 million. Those tickets were sold in Connecticut, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Missouri, New Jersey and Oklahoma. Three included the optional Megaplier, so their tickets are worth $2 million each – sold in Colorado, Florida and Kansas.

The odds of matching five numbers is nearly 1 in 18.5 million.

“It was a great four-month run, resulting in millions of dollars being generated for beneficiaries across the country,” said Paula Otto, Executive Director of the Virginia Lottery and Lead Director for the Mega Millions group.

No word yet on where in Maryland the $1 million ticket was purchased.
